Cherry Little Girls Bedroom (Completed)

Before:  French Provincial Hutch        After:  Painted and updated

Green gingham fabric was added to the back panel and the entire top and bottom were spray painted with antique white.  The knobs were sprayed with an oil rubbed bronze paint

This cute Pottery Barn pie plate was found at an estate sale in our neighborhood - love it!

A decorative shelf was added.  The Sign says, "TWINS: Count your blessings Two by Two".  This rub-on decal was a gift when the twins arrived.  I found a frame with two pieces of glass to sandwich the decal between and added green gingham fabric so the decal would show up against the light colored wall.

The special twin book displayed on the shelf is a rare Little Golden Book that I bought on EBay.  It is about identical twins and is the perfect story for our girls.  The "sweet cherries" is a piece of vintage fabric framed.

Custom sewn details pull this room together.  My talented mom made these cherry pillows, gorgeous quilts for their beds, the valences, and the quilt on the back of the love seat (this was our special crib quilt used by all of our baby girls).  When I decided to make their bedroom a cherry theme there was not any bedding, curtains, pillows, etc.  Trust me, I searched to the other end of the Internet for them.  Kitchens and retro campers (glampers) are typically cherry themed, but apparently bedrooms are not often done in this theme.
All of the cherry fabrics, the light switch cover (above left), and the Mary Englebreit decorative cherry plates (below) were all purchased on EBay.

This bedroom is just the right amount of sweetness for our darling duo
